This table lists the Daily Values used to calculate % Daily Value on a US Supplement Facts panel for adults and children 4 years and older. The values come from 21 CFR 101.9(c)(8)(iv) (Reference Daily Intakes for vitamins and minerals) and (c)(9) (Daily Reference Values for fat, carbohydrate, fiber, protein, sodium and similar nutrients). Every value was checked against the eCFR text. The verification date, ruleset version and source are shown above the table, and the same values drive our Supplement Facts generator and Daily Value calculator.

How to use these values

% Daily Value = amount per serving ÷ Daily Value × 100. The amount and the Daily Value must be in the same unit. Vitamin A uses mcg RAE, folate uses mcg DFE, niacin uses mg NE, and vitamin D uses mcg. Convert supplier values in IU with the nutrient-specific factors in the label notes, or use the unit converter. On a Supplement Facts panel, %DV is declared to the nearest whole percent (21 CFR 101.36(b)(2)(iii)).

Example: zinc 15 mg ÷ 11 mg × 100 = 136.36%, declared as 136%. Step-by-step examples are in our guide How to calculate % Daily Value for supplements.

What this table does not cover

  • Daily Values for infants through 12 months, children 1 through 3 years, and pregnant or lactating women. These are separate columns in 21 CFR 101.9(c)(8)(iv) and are not listed here.
  • Upper limits or recommended intakes for health purposes. Daily Values are labeling reference amounts, not dosing advice.
  • Other markets. The UK and EU use Nutrient Reference Values per daily dose; see labeling by country.
