How Calculations Work
All calculations run in your browser using exact decimal arithmetic. Each result in the tools can show the formula that produced it.
Servings per container
servings per container = units per container ÷ units per serving
Example: 60 gummies ÷ 2 gummies per serving = 30 servings. If the division leaves a remainder (for example 61 ÷ 2), the tools show the exact value and the remainder so you can decide how to declare it under the rules of your market.
Converting the amount basis
- Per unit → per serving: amount × units per serving. 50 mg per gummy × 2 gummies = 100 mg per serving.
- Per daily dose → per serving: amount ÷ servings per day.
- Per 100 g (or 100 mL) → per serving: amount × serving weight (or volume) ÷ 100.
- Per serving → per container: amount × servings per container.
Percent of a reference value (%DV, %NRV)
% = amount per serving ÷ reference value × 100, after converting the amount into the unit of the reference value.
Example: 60 mg vitamin C ÷ 90 mg × 100 = 66.67%, then rounded according to the rounding rule of the selected market.
When no reference value exists for an ingredient, no percentage is calculated and the label uses a footnote symbol instead. If you type your own percentage, it is kept and marked as a manual override; recalculation never silently replaces it.
Unit conversions
Mass and volume units convert by exact factors (1 g = 1,000 mg = 1,000,000 mcg). International Units (IU) are different for each nutrient and sometimes for each chemical form, so the tools only convert IU where a nutrient-specific factor from an official source is recorded. There is no generic IU conversion.
Production batches
theoretical quantity = amount per serving × servings per container × number of containers
Optional overage, process-loss and wastage percentages are your own assumptions. They are shown separately and are not regulatory recommendations.
Shipping volume
CBM = length × width × height (in metres) × quantity.
Rounding
Rounding is applied last. Where a market’s rounding rules have been verified, they are applied automatically; where they have not, the tools show the value at a sensible precision and flag it for review.
