How this tablet preset differs

Tablets start at 90 tablets per container and 1 tablet per serving. The format list also covers chewable and effervescent tablets, which have different typical excipients and nutrient implications.

  • Standard tablets usually contain binders, disintegrants, lubricants and a film coating — list each coating component in Other ingredients.
  • Chewable tablets often contain sugars or sugar alcohols. Total carbohydrate, and optionally sugar alcohol, may need declaring; the generator applies the verified rounding rules.
  • Effervescent tablets typically contain sodium bicarbonate, which supplies sodium. Calculate the sodium per tablet from your formula and declare it if it exceeds the amount that may be declared as zero (less than 5 mg, 21 CFR 101.9(c)(4)).
  • Multivitamin tablets carry many nutrients: the generator orders them automatically in the sequence required for US Supplement Facts (21 CFR 101.36(b)(2)(i)(B)), regardless of the order you add them.

Worked example

One effervescent tablet with 250 mg sodium: 250 is above 140 mg, so it rounds to the nearest 10 mg — 250 mg — and 250 ÷ 2,300 × 100 = 10.9% → 11%*, with the “Percent Daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet” footnote added automatically.
